O projecto de concepção das futuras instalações da nova Biblioteca Pública de Setúbal apresentado a concurso pela EMBAIXADA foi seleccionado entre as 127 candidaturas (99 nacionais e 28 internacionais) como Menção Honrosa. Da lista de Premiados constam o atelier “Jordana Tomé, Vítor Quaresma, Filipe Oliveira” classificado em 1º lugar, o Arq. Carrilho da Graça classificado em 2º lugar, a Arq.ª Mónica Sofia Alves Margarido em 3º lugar.

O leilão de desenhos de autor, para angariação de fundos para o projecto 20 casas 20 mulheres – ADOBE FOR WOMEN, vai ter lugar no próximo dia 27 de Outubro entre as 16 e as 19 horas no espaço Carpediem. O atelier EMBAIXADA vai participar com a doação de um desenho da autoria de Cristina de Mendonça, um esquisso feito no Tibete para o projecto do cais do NiangOu.

The auction, ADOBE FOR WOMEN, which will feature works of various authors from different artistic fields, will be held on 27 October at Carpediem - Art and Research in Lisbon, between 16h and 19h. EMBAIXADA will be present with a drawing by Cristina de Mendonça, a sketch made in Tibet for the NiangOu wharf project.

Architects meet in FuoriBiennale:
From World to Italy Venezia 27-28 August 2012

Durante a vernissage da 13ª Exposição Internacional de Arquitectura na Biennale de Veneza, a Associação Italiana de Arquitectura e Crítica com a presS/Tfactory lançam uma proposta alternativa que pretende alargar o panorama dos jovens arquitectos em Itália, na Europa e no Mundo, procurando novas promessas que possam emergir num futuro próximo. Para fazer um levantamento dos jovens arquitectos abaixo dos 35 anos, 57 projectistas do mesmo número de países são convidados a fazer um ponto da situação do panorama internacional actual. A EMBAIXADA foi convidada pelo crítico Ricardo Camacho, a estar presente neste evento, representando Portugal.

Os trabalhos serão ainda reunidos num livro intitulado Backstage Architecture que será lançado brevemente.

Architects meet in FuoriBiennale:
From World to Italy Venezia 27-28 August 2012

During the vernissage days of the 13th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, the Italian Association of Architecture and Criticism presS/Tfactory launch an alternative proposal that opens to the horizon of the young architecture panorama in Italy, in Europe and in the entire world, looking for the new promises that might emerge in the next future. As a scouting of young architects under 35 emerging in the world, 57 designers from as many nations will make the point on trends and research lines dominating and evolving the actual international panorama. EMBAIXADA will be present representing Portugal in this event, a selection by the critic Ricardo Camacho.

The works are also brought together in the book Backstage Architecture which will be released soon.

KETHRA - Kuwait

a EMBAIXADA foi convidada a participar na KETHRA - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GATHERING, ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM, organizada pelo National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters of Kuwait. Esta conferência é um evento paralelo à participação Kuwaitiana na 13ª Bienal de Veneza. Para além de painéis de discussão, o evento, integra uma série de mesas redondas entre os conferencistas, os membros da equipa da representação do Kuwait na Bienal de Veneza e a comunidade em geral. As conferências vão ter lugar nos próximos dias 31 de Julho e 1 de Agosto na cidade do Kuwait.

The National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters of Kuwait invited EMBAIXADA to take part on the KETHRA - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GATHERING, ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM. This International Conference is a parallel event to the Kuwait Participation at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition of Biennale Di Venezia. The event integrates discussion panels and a series of round tables between the conferencists, the Kuwait representation at Biennale Di Venezia team members and the general community. The panels and presentations will be realized between July 31st and August 1st in Kuwait City.

"CASA dos CUBOS" guided tour

A pedido de um grupo de arquitectos Belgas em visita de estudo a Portugal, a EMBAIXADA fez na passada semana uma visita guiada ao projecto da "Casa dos Cubos" (2007) em Tomar. A organização Belga esteve a cargo de Jean-Christophe Mathen.
