Está já nas bancas a última edição da revista arqa onde, enquadrado no caderno da Geração Z, a EMBAIXADA apresenta o trabalho do NiangOu Warf, um projecto em parceria com o escritório chinês Standardarchitecture, e que se implanta no Tibete.

City + Design + Evolution

Estará brevemente disponível o livro City + Design + Evolution, que acaba de ser editado pela Landscape Design com autoria de Pedro F. Marcelino. O livro procura fazer um apanhado nos 6 continentes, dos trabalhos mais interessantes de arquitectura paisagista e intervenção na paisagem. A EMBAIXADA está presente na edição apresentando o trabalho do NiangOu Warf, uma parceria com o escritório chinês Standardarchitecture, e que se implanta no Tibete.

City + Design + Evolution the new book from Pedro F. Marcelino, edited by Landscape Design, will be available soon. The book presents a selection of the most interesting and unique landscape design from all around the 6 continents. The Tibet NiangOu Warf project by EMBAIXADA, in cooperation with the china based office Standarchitecture, will be featured in the book.

Neste âmbito acompanhou a actividade desenvolvida durante vários meses, incluindo deslocações a obras em curso e projectos construídos, de que resultou um excelente portfólio. TILE AWARD | Las Vegas – Los Angeles

Cristina Mendonça e Albuquerque Goinhas encontram-se em representação da EMBAIXADA, a acompanhar a comitiva do TILE AWARD numa viagem pela arquitectura dos EUA, que inclui as metrópoles de Las Vegas e Los Angeles. Nesse âmbito estiveram presentes no Sands Convention Center de Las Vegas, a visitar a Deutsche Steinzeug América, na companhia de Jeff Moen.

On behalf of EMBAIXADA, Cristina Mendonça and Albuquerque Goinhas are taking part on the TILE AWARD architectural trip into the USA including the metropolis of Las Vegas and Los Angeles. In Las Vegas they visited the Deutsche Steinzeug America, at the Sands Convention Center, in the company of Jeff Moen.

Albuquerque Goinhas, Nuno Griff e Cristina Mendonça estiveram presentes na última edição das Jornadas Internacionais de Arquitectura MATÉRIA Y FORMA 5, organizada pela CÁTEDRA BLANCA VALENCIA, Universidade Politécnica de Valência, em representação da EMBAIXADA arquitectura e da arquitectura contemporânea Portuguesa. Albuquerque Goinhas, Nuno Griff & Cristina Mendonça took part of MATÉRIA Y FORMA 5, Architecture International Congress organized by the CÁTEDRA BLANCA VALENCIA at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, on behalf of EMBAIXADA arquitectura, representing the contemporary Portuguese architecture. TILE AWARD WINNER

Na cerimónia de encerramento do TILE AWARD, a EMBAIXADA foi nomeada vencedora pelo júri, Tiinaa Parkinnen, Karin Renner e Sabine Krumrey. O prémio consta de uma viagem de arquitectura aos Estados Unidos com passagem por Las Vegas e Los Angeles. Os outros vencedores foram Hanko Hoyer e Marco Noch.

On the TILE AWARD closing ceremony EMBAIXADA was nominated one of the winners by the jury, Tiinaa Parkinnen, Karin Renner and Sabine Krumrey. Albuquerque Goinhas e Augusto Marcelino estarão em Munique nos próximos dias 19 e 20 de Janeiro para em representação da EMBAIXADA participar na cerimónia de encerramento do TILE AWARDS.

Este processo teve início em 2010 tendo no seu âmbito sido desenvolvido um espaço expositivo para a série Inside-Out da empresa Agrob Buchtal, que esteve exposto na edição de 2010 da feira CERSAIE em Bolonha, Itália. Estão presentes neste evento, organizado pela AIT, 16 equipas de jovens arquitectos europeus.

On behalf of EMBAIXADA, Albuquerque Goinhas and Augusto Marcelino will be present in Munich to take part on the TILE AWARDS closing ceremony (19/20 January).

The process was initiated in 2010 and EMBAIXADA developed a special exhibition design for the Agrob Buchtal Inside-Out tile series, which was displayed into the 2010 CERSAIE edition in Bologna, Italy. In the event there are represented 16 European young architects offices.

Re-Use Architecture

Adaptive Re-Use Architecture é o tema da nova publicação de Chris van Uffelen, pela Braun Editores, numa mostra de como estruturas pré existentes podem ser recicladas e transformadas em edifícios com novos usos. O CMIA de Tomar (Casa dos Cubos), da EMBAIXADA, é um dos projectos apresentados.

AIT ArchitekturSalon HAMBURG

Ainda é possível visitar, até ao fim do mês de Novembro, a instalação que a EMBAIXADA foi convidada a montar na galeria ArchitekturSalon em Hamburgo.

A convite da AIT, foi desenvolvida uma instalação multimédia que foca o projecto do CMIA de Tomar e que consiste numa projecção vídeo de dupla face. A intervenção teve em conta o posicionamento “fronteira” e tira partido disso para interagir quer com o exterior quer com o espaço interior. Sobre uma tela translúcida, que cobre totalmente a montra é projectado um tríptico, um vídeo com 3 molduras, revelando várias escalas e fases do projecto do CMIA. Este evento multimédia pode ser visto por todos os que passam na rua, no entanto a banda sonora só está patente no interior, recebendo os visitantes e funcionando como som ambiente de toda a exposição. Durante o dia a montra está tapada pela tela branca, filtrando os movimentos interiores como acontece no Teatro Japonês Noh, durante a noite o filme é repetido em contínuo. Assim o espaço da ArchitekturSalon mantém um funcionamento de 24 horas.

Para este projecto a EMBAIXADA contou com a colaboração da realizadora Mercês Tomaz Gomes.

Till the end of November, it is still possible to visit the multimedia installation by EMBAIXADA, presented at the Architektur Salon of Hamburg by AIT invitation.

The multimedia installation focuses on the Tomar EMIO project and consists on a double side video projection that strongly takes into consideration its placement on the gallery site. The intervention takes advantage of its “border” placement in order to interact both with the outside and the inside spaces. Upon a translucent canvas, which covers the entire window surface, there will be projected a triptych, a 3 frame film, picturing several scales and several phases of the EMIO project. This multimedia event can be viewed by all those who are passing by the gallery street. The soundtrack should be present only on the inside, welcoming the visitors at entrance and becoming the exhibition environment music. During the day the outdoor window is covered with a white canvas, filtering the inside movements like in a Noh Japanese Theatre, during the night the film should be played in loop. This way the ArchitekturSalon space will be fulfilling a 24 hours period.

In this project EMBAIXADA had the cooperation of Mercês Tomaz Gomes, director.
